jonteader A bleak and amazing sound interesting contrast calling a band Christmas when it's doom metal but still a modern classic Favorite track: Stille Nacht.

Aldo Quispel Strange bandname, and a concept that just doesn't work.. but actually.. it does. A lot of the acts on bandcamp labeled as 'Funeral Doom' are generally not that Funeral doomish, but this for sure is. And actually some of the best Funeral Doom out there. Not as well known as the big names (Skepticism, Thergothon, Bell Witch, Esoteric, Mournful Congregation, etc.), but musically up there. If your into those bands, check this out! Favorite track: Stille Nacht.
tobias_rieper thumbnail
tobias_rieper Funeral doom with choirs and keys. Vocals are a distorted whisper. More of an indication than actual vocals. Like someone who has been shunned and has never learned to raise his voice. The last song reaches a level of epicness and compositional prowess on par with Slow. In that song everything blends together flawlessly. The whole album is slower than that band in general. There are no faster parts. Yes! Favorite track: Yet to Come.

Stille Nacht 09:40
The glaciers Titanic mountains Frozen forest Shadows fall Darkness devours Eternal night In the solstice’s Sallow moonlight Snow blindness Razor wind Faceless frostbite Glacial tempest Gales of northwind Lost in snow Distant fires Spectral glow All is silent in the night Oceans of quiet in polar light
Past 05:46
Withered tongue and cloven foot Blackened eyes and dagger horns Krampus is watching Count your children
Present 03:29
Desolate days Bound to this frigid darkness Embers dying Like falling leaves All is cold All is candlelight
Yet to Come 10:04
The Great Hunt Rolls across the sky Pagan thunder Hyperborean night Howl of the angels Frozen debris and ice Alpine basilica Black forest frostbite Fading star in the East Messianic prophecy Holy empire of cracked skin Hibernal holy man Ancient secrets Unknown to me A thousand arctic leagues The slumber of a polar sleep Falling asleep Fading to starlight Siberian frostbite

“Vigil” is a four-part dirge of hypothermic doom. A grim cantata of cold slumber, it loosely chronicles the fate of a man lost in hyperborean lands who finds refuge in an abandoned Arctic monastery before succumbing to frostbite and slowly drifting off to foreversleep.

Released on an extremely limited count of hand numbered cassettes, Young Tobacco Records is proud to carry Christmass’ first work in over 4000 years.

Christmass Norilsk, Russia

Down through the Pleistocene glaciers before the emergence of sentient man, echoing through the millenia into the alpine forests where indigenous pre-Christian Germanic and Baltic tribes celebrated its coming through nocturnal fires, monsters and hte Great Hunts of Wuodan, Christmass is everywhere and nowhere, ever-walking a funereal march in the bleak snowblindness of eternal midwinter. ... more
